Saved me from my own mistake
DIY’d air filter on my beautiful 2012 Z4 sDrive 35i. Job took 5 minutes, easy peasy. But I stuffed paper towels in the air box runner tubes to keep debris out when I vacuumed the intake side of … More the air cleaner housing. Then put the filter in and closed up the box with the paper towels in place. Of course within a few miles the paper towels were sucked into the turbos, disabling boost and illuminating the dash engine warning light. Took it to Alex. He had it diagnosed that afternoon, then meticulously removed all bits large and small from the turbos and the tubes. Had the car back by lunchtime and it’s as good as new. Any other mechanic could have simply replaced the turbos and charged me many, many thousands of dollars. But Alex put in the hard work and saved me from my own stupidity.
